PROGRAMME ACTION AIMS & OBJECTIVES FOR 2008-2009

We call our voluntary work "Programme Action"and this reflects the Vision and the Mission of Soroptimist International a vibrant, dynamic organisation for today's professional and business women. We are committed to a world where women and girls together achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong and peaceful communities worldwide.

Programme action forms the heart of Soroptimism, coordinating awareness and implementation of service development for the immediate & long term. Each Club Member has a commitment to contribute significantly to the service aspect of the club and there are many ways in which individuals and groups can achieve these aims.

The Programme focus Goals and objectives relate directly to the six Programme Areas,

• Economic and Social Development (ESD)
• Education (ED)
• Environment (ENV)
• Health
• Human Rights and the Status of Women (HSW)
• International Goodwill and Understanding (IGU)

These provide the structure, or "focus" of all our project work. and is updated once every four years at the International Convention and was last updated in Glasgow in 2007.

These Goals are:-

That Soroptimists will ensure that women and girls:

• Enjoy equity and equality
• Live in safe and healthy environments
• Have access to education
• Have leadership and practical skills

The aims of SI Cardiff PAC are

• To work towards Soroptimist International goals through our club activities
• To work with President Jill “Looking inward as well as outward. “.
• To support President Jill in promoting her chosen Charity - The Cape Verde Trust,
• To coordinate the ongoing projects that the club is committed to.
• To develop new projects as suggested and agreed by club members,
• To support Region by promoting and supporting the projects as agreed.
• To involve the entire membership in as many activities as possible.
• And finally we must not forget to have fun.
