Events – Long service recognised – 22nd November 2005

The Right Honorable The Lord Mayor of Cardiff, Councillor Freda Salway, presented long service certificates to members of Soroptimist International of Cardiff and District (SI Cardiff) at the Mansion House on Tuesday 22nd November. She has accepted our invitation to be an honorary member for her year of office.

In this year when Cardiff celebrates its centenary as a city and 50 years as capital of Wales, SI Cardiff is proud to acknowledge the service given by our members, particularly our long-serving members We have 18 such members – 1 with 50 years, 5 each with 40 and 30 years and 7 with 25 year service.

The Lord Mayor commended members for their long and devoted service saying that volunteers contribute enormously to the whole of society. Without such contributions given so freely society, as we know it, could not function. She wished the club well in its future endeavours.
