Events – Carol Service – 17th December 2005

Llandaff Cathedral Choral Society organises a carol service in Llandaff Cathedral each year with the collection being shared between its nominated charity and the Cathedral. This year it was agreed that this should be the British Red Cross Society, through SI Cardiff & District who had nominated it as its charity for the year. This link was established through our President who has sung with the choir for many years.

Each year the Cardiff County and Vale of Glamorgan Youth Brass Band joins the choir together with other local musicians – this year the Hemiola Young Musicians and the soprano soloist Elizabeth Toye. Readings were given by members of the choir, SI Cardiff & District (President Elect) and the Cardiff County and Vale of Glamorgan Youth Brass Band. We were joined, in the congregation, by Soroptimists from other local clubs and the South & east Wales section of the British Red Cross. A fitting contribution to our Christmas celebrations was enjoyed by all.
