Following supper at Churchill's hotel, Reverend Roy Jenkins, Baptist minister and broadcaster spoke to members about human rights issues. Roy, a frequent contributor to the 'God slot' on radios 2 and 4, presenter of BBC Wales All Things Considered and author of Break a Body, Save a Soul founded Christians Against Torture in Wales in 1981; he is an active and fervent human rights campaigner. Roy challenged members on their views and beliefs. At the end of the evening, President Jacquie presented Roy and his wife Elizabeth and all present, with a candle of peace.
